In 2008 I was asked to shoot stills for Red Bull on the strike mission that Ross Clarke-Jones and Tom Carroll were doing to Shipsterns Bluff in Tasmania. The weather was predicted to be stormy and the swell was supposed to be in the 12-15 feet range. When we woke we were greeted with snow on the beach as we headed past the cape on our way to the break, the bitter cold made worse by the strength of the wind and the sea spray.
Ross surfed, suffered and conquered the conditions in true maniacal style. It was a long, cold and arduous day that was thoroughly enjoyed by all who were lucky enough to be on hand to witness the mayhem that is Ross and Tom.
