The Australian Open of Surfing is on down at Manly this week, and I have been working with Renton Millar for the last two days while he has been working out his lines on the temporary vert ramp installation they have for the event. It’s been a privilege to work with Renton, and the rest of the crew that are down at the ramp going mad in the lead up to the skate event.
Here are some images I shot after shooting Phantom Flex with Renton for a little clip. Enjoy.

My Brother sent me this today and I haven’t posted anything for quite a while, so I thought this might be a good opportunity. This doco looks like it could be interesting. I have used many different mediums over the years and have my own opinions. But I do think that the ‘Better Than’ argument is futile. Film v Digital as a debate is a non issue as far as I am concerned. You either shoot it on film, or you shoot it digitally, the differences is what makes them suit certain applications better than others.
Different, not better, not worse, just different.
Really happy to have had a chance to work with Rich and Mark again recently, even if it was in a studio and not watching them trade off on waves that would kill mere mortals. It was a welcome change from being in the editing suite as well.
This film should be great as well, so if you get a chance, get on it.
Good mate and rock legend from Sydney, Killerwhale (aka Tim Cooney) has got a cancer in his head that will be operated on in less than two weeks time. Although the doctors are confident of removing the tumor successfully, it’s a very serious operation that’s gonna take a lot of time to heal. Killer will be unable to work for at least three months and will also have pretty wild medical bills. There is a fund raising event for him on Saturday at the Beach Rd Bondi be sure to go check it out.
You can donate, read an interview and listen to a music compilation at forourbrotherkillerwhaletim.com
Let’s all put some energy and thought in for Tim and his family’s well being as well.
