There is a bunch of good skaters at my local skatepark. James Hoy is quite possibly at the top of the heap. We have just started to work together and this is our first offering. I wanted to keep it simple, so we worked on one line, captured in nine shots. Hope you enjoy.
A clip that I worked on as director of photography recently for Unit and Monster Energy. I got to shoot Kyle Baldock in a sound stage on the Gold Coast on the Phantom Flex and RED Epic. Much shot planning went into the shoot with the Director Allan Hardy in the lead up to the shoot, and a few impromptu shots revealed themselves as well. The tracking shots in particular. Luckily one of the lads had a pretty cruisy old skateboard on hand and I could ride along the smooth floor of the sound stage with the Phantom Camera and create a smooth tracking shot of the jump.
Allan has done a great job on the edit as well. Congrat’s to all involved.
Here is the behind the scenes phone video.
I spent three days in a sand mine in Country Australia recently shooting for Jonathan Boulet’s new singles film clip directed by Peanut.
Was an epic time and was amazing to work with Jonathan, an absolute legend. Off to see him perform live at the Opera House tonight as well. Giddy up.
“Feelings are not supposed to be logical. Dangerous is the man who has rationalised his emotions.”
Not sure how I came across this quote by David Borenstein, although it sums up this clip that I shot on a Red Epic whilst stuck in recent storms in Fiji perfectly.
The Australian Open of Surfing is on down at Manly this week, and I have been working with Renton Millar for the last two days while he has been working out his lines on the temporary vert ramp installation they have for the event. It’s been a privilege to work with Renton, and the rest of the crew that are down at the ramp going mad in the lead up to the skate event.
Here are some images I shot after shooting Phantom Flex with Renton for a little clip. Enjoy.
